Review: Elefun Snackin' Safari

Last month we attempted to go to an event marking the launch of Elefun Snackin' Safari, and it all went a bit pear-shaped!  However, the lovely people at Hasbro kindly sent us a little stash of goodies to review, including the new game.

Lara really enjoyed playing with the game at the Rainforest Cafe, although our stay was cut short, and pounced upon the box eagerly when it arrived.  The aim of the game is to use the bouncy trunk with its suction grip to collect up the different card snacks in your set as quickly as possible.

There are different adaptations you can make to the game according to children's ages, collecting your particular colour being the simpest of them.  You could also collect different food types, possibly prompting a good discussion about and investigation of different good/not so foods.  Or you can just do what we do now and collect them as quickly as possible to see who the winner is!

Lara does find it a little tricky to press hard enough to pick the cards up, but she's getting the hang of it now, and just loves dashing about with the boingy, bouncy elephant trunk catcher!  Busily collecting as many snacks as posssible, or searching for the Golden Tutti Frutti cake, this is a great fun game for all the family, and even Sophia has a go at picking the cards up with the trunk piece.

Elefun Snackin' Safari includes two Elefun Snackers (the trunk part) and 15 'snack' cards.  It is available at all major toy retailers priced at £14.99.
