Review: Cawston Press Sparkling Drinks

We were recently sent a lovely parcel of four 330ml bottles of new Cawston Press Sparkling drinks.  Cawston Press are well known as creators of perfectly blended apple juices, priding themselves on using the finest, freshest fruit, just bursting with healthy goodness.  The departure into sparkling drinks is a new one.

The flavours we were sent were Cloudy Apple, Ginger Beer, Apple & Rhubarb and Lemon & Lime.  The Cloudy Apple was very, well, apple-y and refreshing, a great flavour, and would go very well with a Ploughman's Lunch in the sun!  Steve really liked the Ginger Beer, but said it was very gingery, so may not be to everyone's taste - certainly not mine!  He said that despite being cold, it was a very warming drink, and he really enjoyed it though.

The Lemon & Lime was very zingy and quite a sour, tart flavour, but my Mum was here with us and absolutely loved it, she's a big fan of anything citrussy.  She wants to put in an order for it again in the summer, to sit in the garden with!!

My favourite though was the Apple & Rhubarb, which was delicious.  The flavour of the rhubarb really came through and it was delicious with dinner (pasta).  I will definitely be buying that again, it was yummy and very refreshing.

The bottles are quite large, but make a perfect long, refreshing drink, or a good one to share between a couple of tumblers.  They will then keep for up to 5 days in the fridge, but you are likely to drink a whole one in one go really!

We will definitely be adding them to our shopping basket when the weather turns warmer later in the year!

All four flavours are available at Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Booths, and online at Ocado, RRP £1.69 each.

  2. Great review! I love Cawston Press cloudy apple juice, it's so refreshing when ice cold! x
