I must admit to being totally in love with just about everything in the shop, and my dreams recently came true when a store opened in nearby Chichester. No longer must I content mysself with the sumptuous mail order catalogues and beautiful website, now I can easily pop in and sigh over beautiful bed linens, silks, and furs in the home section; lust after cashmere gorgeousness in womenswear; and covet all the beautiful clothing and toys for my girls.
Lara is not immune to the immeasurable charms of The White Company either, and always wants to climb on the sumptuous beds, and go round stroking things too - her mother's daughter!
Asked to highlight my favourite pieces for a wintry bedroom, I have come up with the following beautiful things, all of which I would happily welcome into my home during this snuggly season.
The revival of beautiful Ercol furniture hasn't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned, and this gorgeous Ercol love seat in natural is perfect for a bedroom, plenty of room to cosy up on to read, and such a beautiful design you'd never tire of
Snuggling up reading, whether by myself or to the girls, is an essential pastime when the weather's ghastly, and we could all cuddle up happily against this beautifully luxurious Belgravia Headboard. I love the winged side and deep-buttoning, so cosy and intimate - you'd feel shut away from the world in this!
To go on the bed it has to be pure white cotton or linen bedlinen and the Savoy Bed Linen Collection, beautifully smooth 400-thread Egyptian cotton, trimmed with a single cord row meets my exacting criteria perfectly. Pile of pillows obligatory, of course!
No winter bed is complete without a couple of warming and cosy throws, preferably in faux fur or cashmere, and these two silver beauties certainly hit the spot. The Plain Cashmere Throw is to die for, and the Luxury Faux Fur Throw in Silver is the softest I have ever come across.
The finishing touch for me is always scent, so I would have to choose my favourite of The White Company's beautiful candles, Orange Grove - fresh but woody, it reminds me of warmer nights in foreign climes, but is delightfully comforting on a cold day too. In fact it's burning next to my desk as I type!
So that's my choice of wintry bedroom furnishings from The White Company, what would you choose to build your wintry nest?
