We were recently sent the new Dr Oetker range, Panebello Pizza, to review too. These are completely different to the Ristorante range, described as "a new line of pizzas with a unique bakery-style crust."
The pizzas were very deep pan style, which suits Steve down to the ground, but is not necessarily my preference. The crust was very crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, and thankfully they didn't suffer from the dreaded 'soggy bottom'!
The girls and I shared the Pomodoro Mozzarella version, which had a generous topping of mozzarella cheese, diced tomatoes, and basil. The topping was very tasty and it did indeed bring out the flavour of the crust but Lara and I left a lot of the centre of the pizza as it was a bit too thick for us.
Quote from the man: "The pepperoni was very spicy and there was a nice balance of vegetables on it. It was very nice, with a good crispy base and great flavour."
So a big hit with the deep pan pizza lover, but not so much with Lara and I who tend to prefer thin crust pizzas. As for Sophia, she really enjoyed her slice and slowly chomped her way through it alongside her salad. I'm sure we would buy these pizzas again, as the toppings were really tasty, and it would be great to see the range include other vegetarian variants to try.
