Review: Amie Skincare

I have been trying out Amie skincare products this month, and loving them!  I even smiled rather than shouted when Lara decided to experiment with the moisturiser and the computer keyboard, apparently she was icing cupcakes...  But all that pure and natural beauty must be rubbing off on me, giving me a pure and natural temperament too!

I hadn't heard of Amie Skincare before, but it is an award-winning range of natural beauty products, providing you with "the natural way to achieve perfect, flawless skin".  Created by top beauty expert, Fiona Parkhouse, it is suitable for sensitive skin and bursting with vitality-boosting natural ingredients.

Containing natural plant and botanical extracts, and free from harsh chemicals, Amie products are gentle yet super-effective.  They are completely free from parabens, sulphates, mineral oils, petrochemicals and animal extracts.  The products have been designed to work in complete harmony with your skin to help keep it clear, soft and radiant.  Best of all they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

Lovingly created in the UK, Amie – meaning “friend” in French – is truly “your skin’s best friend”.

I have been using the gorgeous Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash which contains a whopping 96.8% natural ingredients.  It's a lovely creamy texture and smells delightful, perfect for waking up skin in the morning or washing the day away in the evening, although if you are a make-up wearer you may need to use the cleanser Petal Perfect on pads first.

Morning Clear wash provides soap-free cleansing to remove all dirt, oil and make-up from the face without stripping or drying the skin.  I found it really cleansing on my combination to dry skin, and it didn't leave me with that horrible 'tight' feeling.  Apparently this is down to the 15% moisturising formulation, created by cocoa seed butter and sweet almond oil, which deep cleanses the skin but leaves it soft and refreshed, rather than stripped back.

With extracts including mayblossom and elderflower to help purify and decongest the skin, it definitely keeps oiliness in check too.  While orange blossom and raspberry tone pores and refresh the skin, leaving it looking and feeling clear and radiant.

Priced at a very reasonable £4.95 for 150ml, a size which last a good while, this is a great new skincare brand to switch to.

The face wash is best followed by the Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturiser which is a really light daily moisturiser, suitable even for oily skin types, and great for wearing in this hot weather.  It is rapidly absorbed and makes skin feel and look soft and dewy, but shine-free, and best of all the effect lasts all day!

Containing 90.8% natural ingredients, Morning Dew contains no parabens or mineral oils, but it does contain natural active ingredients like organic rosehip and bilberry to nourish the skin, natural plant sugars to hydrate and vitamin E to act as an anti-oxidant, protecting against both sun damage and pollution.  It also contains Lemon Fruit Extract which acts as an effective antiseptic, whilst Orange Blossom is an excellent skin clarifying agent, helping to remove excess sebum and keep oily skin clear.

I can't get over how soft and lovely this moisturiser is, it smells great too, but best of all it genuinely 'does what it says on the tin tube', and provides great moisturisation whilst leaving skin matte and shine-free.  I usually use a rather expensive Lancome moisturiser in the summer, as it is the only one I have found which keeps my temperamental skin hydrated but oil-free in the heat, this bargain effective product will be replacing it permanently!

Morning Dew is also priced at £4.95 for a 100ml tube.

Amie products are available online from their website or from Waitrose, and on the High Street at Waitrose and John Lewis.  Highly recommended!
