Review: Playmobil Advent Calendars

As you know, we are absolutely delighted to be Playmobil Playologists, and lucky Lara has been sent a beautiful Princess Wedding Playmobil Advent Calendar to review.

Of course, she was desperate to open the whole thing as soon as it was delivered - sometimes I wish I could schedule all our review deliveries just for the mornings she's out! - but luckily we have finally persuaded her to resist temptation and to wait for 1st December!

The Advent Calendar has 24 window to open, each containing a toy which when put together will complete the lovey wedding scene.  So one day she will have the princess bride, another the cake or the candelabra, culminating in a beautiful white horse which Lara will adore on Christmas Eve.  All of the assembled parts can be gathered together in front of the fold-out scenery which is included, to create a complete play set.

Luckily Lara hasn't seen this part on the back which details all the toys to be found over the 24 days of December!  We all love our Playmobil toys and this selection will be a very welcome addition to our collection, to be much played with in the years to come.  One of the things I most love about Playmobil is how it all fits together, no matter whether dinosaurs, police or princesses, a story can be told, and everything works with everything else.  The only limit is your imagination!

In all this set contains 101 pieces to put together, no doubt well out of Sophia's reach, or she will be accused constantly of messing it up, poor thing!  Lara is going to have such fun with this, and is already beyond excited at the prospect of opening her calendar up each day.

If pink princesses aren't your or your child's thing, there are several other designs available, including Winter Wonderland, Police, Pony Farm and Pirates versions.

Playmobil Advent Calendars retail at £17.99 each and are available to buy on the Playmobil website, but I did notice a bit of a bargain in Toys R Us the other day - if you spend £45 or more on Playmobil toys, you receive an Advent calendar of your choice for free!  A really great deal.

  1. This looks and sounds amazing! My daughter (who is off school sick today) has just spotted it over my shoulder and is like "I really want one of those" lol.
Lovely review, thanks for posting x

  2. I thought you were supposed to be surprised at what was behind a window. Why do they tell you? Very commercial and not Christmassy at all.

  3. As I was reading your post, Eddie looked at the images, pointed at the box and said "I think we need to buy them", so here you are. ;)

  4. I'm loving all the Christmas posts everywhere. They're really getting me in the mood! Like you, I wish post would arrive when Talitha's asleep or something. It's such a nightmare explaining that you can't open it or that it's not for right now. Cute calendars.

  5. Lucky Lara.
Thanks for sharing the Toys 'R' Us offer.
