Happy 75th Birthday Ribena!

The iconic Ribena bottle has a new look thanks to the Morley family of Lancashire, who have topped a UK wide search to find a new design for its label, as part of the Ribena 75th Birthday Competition.

This is the first time in the brand’s 75-year history that the public have been asked to redesign the bottle, with the winning design now on-shelf in Tesco stores nationwide.

The winning design from mum Lisa, daughters Hattie (17), Lulu (14) & dad Richard beat over 140 entries to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience, impressing the panel of judges with its creativity and exuberance – including Ribena berries jumping out of a gift-wrapped box.

The five-strong panel was headed up by ex-Blue Peter presenter and mum-of-two Katy Hill, who said of the winning design: “I’m so impressed with the one the Morley family ‘made earlier’! There were so many amazing designs – it was such a tough decision! But all of us on the judging panel loved the Morley’s concept – it stayed true to celebration – and we loved the funky use of different materials.”

All the label design entries can all be viewed on an image gallery:

The winning family also receive a holiday and 20 runners-up get a year’s supply of Ribena squash*.

Ribena is one of the UK’s most iconic and home-grown brands as it celebrates its diamond jubilee. To this day it still uses blackcurrants grown on a handful of British farms by farmers who have grown blackcurrants for Ribena for up to 60 years and three generations.

The winning label is available on 1 Litre Ribena Original bottles in Tesco stores, RRP £2.90.
