Review: Bonmarche David Emmanuel Waterfall Cardigan

When he's not hanging out in the jungle being a Get Me Out of Here Celeb, David Emmanuel has a day job designing for High Street clothing retailer Bonmarché.  I was pleasantly surprised by the designs his expert eye has brought to the store and bought a David Emmanuel skirt from there a few years ago when I was teaching, just a plain black one but it lasted and lasted and lasted, despite attacks by glue, paint, Plasticine and whatever else a class of 30 8 year olds could offer!

When I was asked to review an item from Bonmarché's new Autumn/Winter collections, I headed straight for the cardigans page as I was in dire need of a new one.  I was intrigued to know whether a cardigan would be as good quality, and as hard-wearing, as that fabled skirt.  After a good browse of the many styles available, I chose the Cable Waterfall Cardigan in Grey.

The item was delivered quickly and I was impressed with how soft and cosy it is.  It is a good quality knit and very well cut, so it hangs beautifully and is very flattering, even around a baby bump.  Plus it goes with everything!  It has also washed up really well several times now, which I am delighted with - even when one of the cats decided to swing off the sleeve when it was on the washing rack.  Grrr...

This cardigan is also available in Petrol, Mink, Plum and Stone.  It retails at just £24, and would make a fantastic addition to any wardrobe.  A great Christmas present too!  If you haven't considered Bonmarché before, it is certainly worth a look.

Happy shopping everyone!
