Review: MaterniCare Pre and Post Natal Nourishing Cream

In the last few weeks bump has started to get really itchy in the late evening, and having read somewhere that you're not supposed to itch it (not sure why!), it has been driving me crazy!  Thankfully, I have been sent a huge tube of MaterniCare® Pre & Post Natal Nourishing Cream.

Containing a blend of rich plant oils and essential vitamins designed to nourish and care for your skin as your bump grows, and afterwards to support your body as it recovers, this is a gentle, hypoallergenic product.  It is thick and luxurious, and has a formula packed full of pro-vitamin B5, a powerful natural skin healer and protector, as well as almond, avocado and grape seed oils, vitamin E and soothing calendula.  I'm not sure which aspect of that provides the soothing properties, but oh my, it's lovely!

The thick cream doesn't leave any oily residue, meaning you can get dressed immediately after application, yet despite sinking into bump straight away, it hydrates for hours and really helps combat that horrid ate-evening itchy feeling.  It leaves skin feeling soft and smooth and has a slightly cool, soothing feeling.

Unlike other reviewers, I wasn't mad keen on the fragrance, but it wears off quickly so this isn't an issue.  And for smooth, soft, non-itchy skin, I am certainly a convert.  This is the perfect moisturiser for the latter stages of pregnancy, and that feels great!

Highly recommended.

MaterniCare is available from Boots, RRP £14.99 for a 200ml tube.
