Review: Shloer Celebration

One of the more tricky things about being pregnant is not being able to drink.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not that bothered about it, I mean I'll survive and everything, but sometimes a couple of glasses of wine would be most welcome, especially fizz when it comes to those celebratory moments.  I must admit to not being totally abstinent during the 9 months of any of my pregnancies, but we're talking the odd small glass here and there, nothing substantial.

With the anniversary of our first date last weekend, the usual practice would be to crack open a bottle of bubbly, so the arrival of new Shloer Celebration on the Friday before was most serendipitous!

Shloer Celebration is a new alcohol-free alternative released just in time for the festive season.  It even has a proper cork to pop to get your party started!  Available in two flavours, White Bubbly and Pink Fizz, it should be served chilled and makes the ideal alternative for non-drinkers, drivers and any pregnant ladies attending your festive soirees.

They say:

Shloer Celebration Pink Fizz is a fresh and fruity combination with the vibrant flavours of red and white grape juices fused together to create a beautiful sparkling rose juice drink.

Shloer Celebration White Bubbly has a crisp and full bodied flavour, using the very best in white grape juices to create the perefct glass of fizz - no alcohol required!

We sampled the White Bubbly and found it very pleasant and refreshing.  It would be the perfect non-alcoholic alternative at a Christmas party, and I could also see it going down very well in the garden in summertime.  You are not going to kid anyone into thinking this is Champagne, but as an alternative it has the requisite popping cork and lots of frothy bubbles to make even a 9 months pregnant lady with a chest infection feel treated!  (No mean feat!)

The toddler even insisted that she should try some, although she refused it in a tumbler and waited until we had ransacked the picnic supplies for a plastic Champagne flute!

You can read what my friend Galina thought of the Pink Fizz variant here.

Shloer Celebration retails at £2.99 for a 75cl bottle.

Shloer is now available in nine refreshing and delicious flavours, none of which contain preservatives, artificial colours, sweeteners or flavourings.  Available in supermarkets nationwide.
