An Afternoon with the Ducks

We finally made it to the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust at Arundel yesterday to feed Sophia's beloved duckies.  Half the site was still off-limits due to the flooding and the water level was ridiculously high, despite having receded a little this week.

The girls loved having the freedom to run around after so much time indoors with wet weather, illnesses etc.  And there were lots of unusual ducks and geese to see, as well as lots of nest-building going on.  We found one particularly hungry swan who was grateful to have most of the feed we bought, and even spotted a water rat.  Very Wind in the Willows!

We repaired to the cafe at M&S in Chichester after to stock up on some cake calories.  They even had some great gluten-free options for now potentially-intolerant Sophia.  It looks like we enjoyed it!

A lovely afternoon for us all.
