Britain's Got Living Room Talent - Use Yours to Win!

With the new series of Britain's Got Talent hitting our screens, many of us will secretly be dusting off our own living room talents, whether that be joke telling, singing or juggling!  Maltesers has partnered with Britain’s Got Talent this year and, to celebrate, Maltesers is encouraging the nation to let its lighter side out by uploading Living Room Talents to www.facebook.com/Maltesers

Whatever your living room talent, joke telling, to impressions or beat boxing, Maltesers want to know about it.  Three lucky winners will be selected for the nation's top living room talent submissions, with a prize of joining the Ultimate House Party in London on 7 June where Britain's Got Talent finalists - Francine Lewis, Richard & Adam and Steve Hewlett will perform.  Plus, the winners will get to bring 20 of their friends and family along so it’ll be a lot of fun!

A recent survey by MALTESERS®, the official confectionery partner to Britain’s Got Talent, found that 1 in 5 adults admit to having a special talent they use to entertain friends and family on a night in.  The survey found a knack for joke-telling is the most popular Living Room Talent, followed by either impressions or magic tricks.

The findings also showed that age is no barrier when it comes to embracing hidden talents as one in ten discovered their talent when they were between the age of 31 and 40 years old.  Whether it’s your dad’s jokes, your impersonations or your sister’s magic tricks, this is the perfect time to turn your living room into your stage.

The survey revealed that the nation’s capital has come out on top as the ‘most talented’ region. Almost a quarter of those living in London (24%) possess a Living Room Talent – a higher proportion than anywhere else in the country. The people of Yorkshire (21%) are hot on London’s heels in second place.

While magic tricks are the most popular Living Room Talent in Scotland with a quarter (25%) of respondents claiming this is their hidden talent, impressions and dancing take the top spots in Wales (even 20%). It’s a different story in the North hwever, with over two in ten Yorkshire residents claiming they are best at telling jokes.

Impressionist and Britain’s Got Talent 2013 finalist, Francine Lewis says: "I’m a big believer in doing what you love and having fun at the same time so I think that it’s great that MALTESERS® is encouraging people to share and embrace their natural talents. I can’t wait to see what talents the nation is yet to reveal - I’m particularly excited to see if there are any other budding impressionists out there!"

So what's your hidden talent or party trick?  Just upload your video to www.facebook.com/Maltesers before 18th May, and remember the best entries will win tickets to the Ultimate House Party!

Please note that while the competition is open to those over the age of 18 years old, people are welcome to involve family and friends in their entry who may be between the age of 12-17, so long as they have parent/guardian permission to do so.
