Review: Jelly Bears Children's Vitamins #Vegetarian

Raising the girls as vegetarians, we do sometimes worry that they aren't getting all the vitamins and minerals they need.  We think carefully about the food we eat, and offer them a well-balanced diet but, like all children, they don't always comply and eat what's on offer!  So we have been looking for a good, child-friendly vitamin range for ages, but have found that so many don't really appeal to the girls, or aren't suitable for vegetarians.  We were delighted then to be asked to review a new product on the market, the very cute Jelly Bears.

Containing all of the vitamins children need for healthy growth and development, Jelly Bears are available in three variants:

  • Summer Berry flavour Multivitamins
  • Orange flavour Zinc and Multivitamins
  • Orange flavour Omega 3

The team behind the new product have this to say:

"Developed especially for children, the fruity bear gummies provide essential nutrients to help promote health and development in early years. Jelly Bears are made from plant derivative pectin, as opposed to the animal derivative gelatin."

In fact the Jelly Bears are:
  • Vegetarian
  • Gelatin free
  • Gluten free
  • Free of Artificial Colours
  • Free of Hydrogenated Fats
  • Nut free
  • Wheat free
  • 100% Natural

While Steve and I are happy that the girls will be getting all the vitamins they need, even during those 'we only eat junk' phases, the girls are happy to eat their 'sweets', and have a fun little teddy bear pot to play with after.  The recommended intake for children aged 3 and older is 1 to 2 bears daily, and there are 50 bears in each pot.  We haven't finished a whole pot yet, but Lara has one earmarked for her bead collection, and Sophia wants one for the tiny stones she loves to collect from the beach or the park.

The little vitamin bears are such a great idea as children will love them, and they do taste just like regular gummy sweets in both flavour and texture, so there will be no problem getting them to eat 1 or 2 a day.  And at the end of the 50 teddies, they have a super cute new friend to play with or use for storage, win win!

Jelly Bears retail at £6.99 per pot and are available from Holland & Barrett
