Cosying Up Your Home for Autumn

October already?!  Well I don't think I can ignore autumn any longer, the picnic blankets need to be washed and put away; the summer duvet changed for something heavier; and plans made for the cooler days and nights to come.  I always feel inclined to swap to heavier fabrics in the home as I do with my wardrobe; to swap over the salad bowls for pie and lasagne dishes; and to swap light, floral candle fragrances for spicier, heavier scents.

Here's my pick of beautiful things to cosy up the home with this autumn:

Quilts by Lisa Watson, £395

Lisa uses quality traditional fabrics, such as Harris tweed and sumptuous velvets to make her distinctive, 100% British made quilts.  With her use of fabulous fabrics, colours and textures, you are guaranteed a distinctly unique quilt that is made to last and will just grow better with age, as even more of your stories are interwoven into its fabrics.  A fabulous quilt to snuggle under this autumn/winter, and perfect as an exquisite family heirloom.
Ludlow Drinks Cabinet, Cookes Furniture £959

This drinks cabinet is such a fabulous idea.  With space for up to 20 bottles of wine, I'll be stocking up on lots of full-bodied wintery reds to fill this unit!  I love the ingenious drawer which pulls out to make a drinks mixing shelf - perfect for some yummy winter cocktails.  And it even has hanging space for lots of wine glasses too.

Wooden candlestick, Darwins Home £41

The epitome of elegant sophistication, this exquisite wooden candlestick is inspired by a traditional French toy - you get to thread on the Perles in your own design!  Fab idea, and a lovely gift (Christmas thinking ahead...)

Lavender bag, Catherine Green £10

Talking of Christmas, how about these beautiful lavender bags from up and coming artist and designer, Catherine Green.  She creates vibrant, tactile artwork from an her studio in the village of Gomersal in Yorkshire, and exhibits at galleries and events around the UK.  The open studio, located between Leeds and Huddersfield, has a permanent exhibition of her work, including prints, cards, badges, homewares and larger original pieces, both framed and unframed.  I love the vibrant, jolly prints and modern folksy style.

Clouds rug, GLTC £155

We are slightly obsessed with all things Great Little Trading Company in this house, and this gorgeous cloud print rug proves why.  Hand-tufted, it is soft and cuddly, a great place to play - especially with Cloudbabies toys!!  I love the pale silvery grey shade too, just gorgeous.

Also from GLTC, no child's bedroom or living room is complete without one of these squidgy but shaped bean bag chairs.  Great even for little ones, ultra comfy, and best of all, all theirs, these little chairs are just fab.  They even have a handle on the back so they can easily be moved around, and from room to room.

What are your autumn cosying up essentials?
