Christmas Gift Guide: For Babies & Toddlers

There are lots of 'baby's first Christmas' gifts out there, and the delight of putting a baby in a super-cute elf/Santa/snowman/Christmas tree outfit cannot be denied.  But if you want to go beyond those options, how about one of these ideas?  We've got things for now, things to keep, and things to treasure.  All perfect for anyone 2 and under you know.

Finding new and unusual companies that supply children's clothes is always a joy so we were delighted to be approached by Poco Nido, a small Sheffield-based company who make gorgeous limited edition clothing and footwear in unusual prints.  Their quirky illustrated scenes and repeat animal patterns are just adorable, all printed on soft cotton with lovely soft touch seams and easy pull-on shapes.  We love this cute paisley print, which is delightfully snooze-worthy as our model shows below!  Prices start at under £10, from www.poconido.com

To keep those tiddly tootsies warm, the new Wolfie + Willow range from Inch Blue shoes offers beautifully crafted, handmade moccasins in a variety of colours and designs.  These practical, stylish shoes have an elasticated collar to ensure they stay on, and are ethically made from vegetable tanned eco leather making them biodegradable and eco-friendly.  We chose the Clancy which are a gorgeous colour, and so soft and lovely.  Our young tester refused to take them off!

Little Tikes has just launched a new range of eight adorable sea creatures designed to help develop babies' motor skills, coordination and confidence.  The new Lil’ Ocean Explorers range are very cute, really eye-catching and colourful, and great fun.  Prices start at just £8.99 for the Push n’ Glow Fish. a light-up fishy friend with fun sounds and an easy-hold handle making it simple and fun to push along.  The Catch Me Crabbie (above) has a motor sensor which detects baby approaching, moving side to side clapping its claws and playing music as she does so.  Great fun to chase!
