Over two thirds of pet owners don’t realise their home is at risk from flea infestation. In fact, 95% of fleas are found in the home, yet over two thirds of pet owners overlook the problem and don’t treat their homes for fleas even after they find that their pet has been infected. Flea prevention is definitely better than cure, but nearly half of pet owners are leaving it too late, only taking action when they notice flea bites on themselves or members of their family, or spot reddened skin and bald patches on their pet.
Fleas are carried into the home by our beloved pets and can be very difficult to see. Flea eggs can then be transferred from a pet’s fur onto carpets and crevices within the home. A single female flea can lay up to a staggering fifty eggs per day, resulting in an infestation quickly building up in the
home; a problem hidden in plain sight for many households.
