The Gallery: Picture Postcard

Woo hoo!!  It's week 100 of the wonderful Gallery, and this week's theme is Picture Postcard.

My 'postcard' was taken on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini on my birthday, 16th August, four years ago.

Santorini is probably the most-photographed Greek island, especially the architecture of Thira and Oia, which is all white sugar cubes against incredible blue skies and sea.  It's the epitome of what springs to mind when we think of Greek islands, and doesn't disappoint in the flesh either.

I had always wanted to go to Santorini and was completely thrilled, and more than a little over-excited, when Steve and I booked to stay at the beautiful Meltemi Suites in Perissa for our first holiday together.

Unbeknownst to me, Steve had been making secret plans, and whilst we were there asked me to marry him.  In such surroundings, with the man I loved on bended knee, I said a very happy yes, then burst into tears!

And don't forget to enter our competitions!
