Accessorising For The Party Season

Today we have the third of our guest posts from Anna Mewes, Marketing Manager at colour me beautiful, a timely guide to accessorising for the party season.  If you have various Christmas events and parties to go to this month and don't know what to wear or how to wear it, then this is the guide for you!

The party season is upon us and many of us will have several social engagements to attend over the coming weeks.  Here at colour me beautiful we love the opportunity to embrace new season style by updating our party looks with some key accessories to breathe new life into an existing outfit.

If you have the perfect party dress but are looking for some inspiration for how to accessorise it then look no further…!

A Colourful Clutch

We all need somewhere to put the essentials when we’re out for the evening and a fun, colourful clutch will look stylish as well as being practical.

If you want to make a statement opt for one in a colour that contrasts with the rest of your outfit (this will look particularly good if you fall into the Clear or Cool colour categories, where an element of contrast will work well for you). Alternatively you could pick out a shade from your dress and pick this up in your clutch to showcase a cohesive and thought-through look.

A Chic Hair Accessory

Sometimes the smallest details can make a huge impact and this season sees hair accessories become a big part of the dressing-up process.

You could go all-out girly with a bow, pull your hair into an understated half up/half down style with an embellished clip, or add a touch of sparkle into your up-do. If you haven’t changed your hairstyle for a while now is a great time to experiment with a new do - either get some advice from your hairdresser or speak to your local colour me beautiful consultant for some recommendations on shape and colour for your new ‘do’.

Party Shoes

Most women love the opportunity to indulge in a new pair of shoes - and this is the season to have fun with your footwear! High heels will elongate your leg and a pair of classic courts never go out of style (perhaps try some in a bright shade, or with a touch of sparkle to give your look a lift) Alternatively you could opt for a classic pair of Mary Janes , which are huge news this season, to add a sweet, stylish edge to an existing outfit.

Whatever you opt for ensure that your footwear is comfortable enough for you to dance the night away in - the barefoot look is just so not chic darling!
