Zoinks Scoob, who's that at the London Palladium for just 12 shows?!
Last week the girls were treated to a collection of goodies in anticipation of our visit to the Scooby Doo Live! show yesterday. Warner Bros. and Life Like Touring have joined forces to bring that crazy mutt Scooby-Doo and his Mystery Inc. friends to the stage worldwide in Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries.
Yesterday we headed to the West End to see the show and Jeepers! was it good! In the UK for just 12 performances, this is the only UK date for the show this year, so if you want to see Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo in action, head over to scoobydoolive.co.uk to book tickets now! There are just 9 performances left as the show ends on Sunday 21st August!
The show sees everyone's favourite mischievous mutt and friends save the day when a mysterious ghost is haunting the hallowed stage of the London Palladium itself. Can the gang collect the clues and figure out what's going on? Will Fred set one of his infamous traps? Can Scooby survive for 5 minutes without a Scooby snack? Will Velma win Shaggy's love? All these questions and more will be answered when you see Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries at the London Palladium this weekend!
With a real-life drive around Mystery Machine, crazy ghosts, a variety of musical numbers, singing, dancing, puzzles to solve and clues to find, this is Scooby-Doo and his friends at their best, solving mysteries wherever they go. The ghostly ghoul initially looked a bit scary for very little ones, but soon turned out to be just a costume (of course) so all was well.
The cast were perfect in their accents, phrasing and mannerisms, all very true to the well-loved characters they were portraying. The girls especially loved Shaggy played by Charlie Haskins, and he was excellent. Steve and I liked the '60s vibe and references with authentic costumes, poses (Daphne!) and dancing evoking the cartoon.
With the ever-popular Scooby-Doo theme song “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” alongside original new groovy tunes such as “Round Every Corner” and “We’re Mystery Inc.” the musical theatre box was well and truly ticked. Our only issue was that the sound was a bit too loud so some of the lyrics were lost. Scooby-Doo himself was. of course, a huge hit with kids and adults alike!
Filled with the usual Mystery Inc. favourites along with some wacky new characters and uproarious antics, Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries entertained us all. Tatiana (2) joined in with the clapping, waving and dancing; Sophia (4) got excited and involved at all the right moments; and Lara (6) helped solve the clues and worked out the mystery before the final reveal. Steve and I just relived our TV youth with Shaggy et al. Great fun for all the family!
Direct from sell-out tours in North America, Europe, Mexico, the Middle East and Australia, Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries has young (and old) audiences on the edge of their seats in traditional Scooby-Doo fashion from the moment the lights go down. Everyone’s favourite characters from one of television’s longest-running animated series are thrilling audiences at the London Palladium, the home of family entertainment, until Sunday 21 August.
