Review: Soreen Lunchbox Loaves #lunchboxheroes

Providing an interesting, nutritious, fun and healthy packed lunch every day is a constant challenge for many parents, particularly with schools cracking down on what is and isn't acceptable.  Most children want a sweet snack after their 'main course', veggies and fruit, but what to give them?  Soreen have come to the rescue with their Lunchbox Loaves, available in original Malt and Banana flavours.

Ideal for children aged 2 to 11, these healthy mini loaves are perfect for lunchboxes and snacks.  Individually wrapped they will stay fresh in bags, pockets or boxes until needed, ready for that distinctively squidgy snack.  Low in fat and a great source of fibre they are perfect for all kids, including picky eaters who will enjoy the familiar flavour as well as the slightly different banana.

Soreen's Lunchbox Loaves also meet the School Foods Standards set by the government-approved Children's Food Trust, so this is one sweet treat that schools will approve of.  And at just 95 calories they make a great guilt-free sweet snack for us mums too (ssshh).

In fun little packets, this convenient snack is perfect for families that are always on the go.  We have stashed a pack in the car glove box for those 'Mummy, I'm STARVING!" moments - post-soft play anyone?!  The girls love malt loaf anyway, and these cute little loaves have been very well received.

It's great to find something new to add to lunchboxes for all the home ed days out we have planned this year, especially as they are sweet but still low in calories and fat, so much better than the usual chocolate buttons or mini pack of biscuits.  And well done Soreen for putting all the nutritional information and colour coded GDA (Guided Daily Amount) information so clearly on the front of the packet.  Many people struggle to identify healthier food choices, so any advance in this area is to be welcomed.  (Green is good, amber means a little is OK, red is not a good idea.)

Soreen Lunchbox loaves are available in original Malt and new Banana flavours.  You can find them in all major supermarkets, including Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, The Co-operative, Tesco, Morrison's and, RRP £1.35 for a packet of five.
