Review: Chad Valley Tiny Treasures Newborn Doll

When Sophia was due, the girls' Auntie Kim kindly gave Lara a newborn doll of her own to play with and practice on.  Lara adores her dolly, named Teddy, and Sophia has long been jealous of her having a lifelike baby doll.  So when the adorable Chad Valley Tiny Treasures Newborn Doll with Pink Outfit arrived, Sophia was delighted.

Packaged in a cardboard carry case, just like a baby's car seat, this beautifully realistic 18"/44cm baby doll arrives wearing a cute little outfit of top, trousers, socks and with a bow in her hair.  She even wears a hospital style tag wrist band and has her own birth certificate.

With soft, warm skin; slightly crazy wild but soft hair; eyes that open and close, and very lifelike facial features, she really does look like a real newborn.  She even has floppy legs, arms and head so you gave to pick her up and hold her just like a real baby.  Our new addition was quickly adopted by Sophia and her fellow mummies here, and has become part of their family.

Weighted to feel just like a real baby, with that typical baby powder smell, she is just adorable.  We were very impressed with how realistic the weight felt when you hold her, and this makes her the perfect way to prepare a little one for a new arrival.  A great gift from you or the new baby to keep toddlers and preschoolers happy and involved.

Ours has been co-slept with, pushed around in a buggy, worn out in the sling, and rocked in Tatia's wooden cradle, she is pretty much on hand all the time for some more imaginary play and role play fun.  She is soft to cuddle unlike some of the more hard-bodied baby dolls, smells great and definitely looks the part.  We love her!

The Chad Valley Tiny Treasures Newborn Doll is available from Argos, priced £39.99.  A lovely selection of outfits and accessories, such as changing bag, different outfits and a sleeping bag, is also available, priced from £9.99.

A Tiny Treasures Baby in a blue outfit is also available.
