The House of Fraser Sale: My Top Picks

The House of Fraser sale is on!  With up to 60% off womenswear, menswear, kidswear, home and even beauty, there are bargains galore to be had.  Here are my top picks from the House of Fraser sale - while stocks last...

Weddings, christenings and parties

This gorgeous green dress is perfect for weddings, parties or special occasions this summer, but will see you well into autumn too.  Bang on trend, fitting the bright Crayola colour vibe we saw on the SS18 catwalks, it's a classic autumn colour too.  The fitted waist band gives a flattering fit and the layered statement sleeves add modern detail. A concealed zip fastening means it hangs beautifully and will fit and flatter for every occasion.

This chic midi dress combines a black fitted bodice with a botanical print full skirt and stylish belt.  You'll be buying into the current pastel trend, but with an edge.  The cute 50s styling of the top and skirt that flares out from the waist makes this dress very flattering for those who need some help with their curves. Hurry because there are only sizes 6, 8 and 10 left.

Possibly my favourite piece, this stunning floral print skater dress from Ted Baker is just divine.  Dress it up for parties or weddings, or down with Converse or simple sandals for holidays, barbecues, even the office.  How confident would you feel wearing this to a meeting?!  Love it.

Oh wedges, how we love you! Height with comfort is not an elusive dream with a pair of great wedges in your wardrobe. I actually shed a tear when my favourites gave up the ghost a few years ago. These beauties are about to become their much-loved replacement. Raffia -edged sole and white straps, they'll go with everything all summer long - and next year too!

Next wardrobe essential: these ISSA wide leg trousers. They'll go with everything, scrunch up in a corner of your bag or suitcase, then see you through days and nights of holiday. And back home again in the office or on a night out. Perfect!

Also from ISSA, this adorable block print maxi dress is super flattering, an amazing fit, and will be your go-to dress all summer.  It almost has a Pucci feel, evocative of the swirly prints and rainbow shades seen in Marc Jacobs 1960s Palm Beach-inspired show.

Ballet pumps are an essential on city streets, in airports and anywhere else you need to walk this summer. These beautiful embellished ballerinas have square toes and lots of pretty jewels sprinkled over. They work with skirts, dresses and trousers - even your beachwear.

Bright, cherry pop lips were a key trend on the SS18 catwalks, with perky pinks and bright reds from coral and raspberry ripple to pillar box and cherry. This bargain Yves Saint Laurent lip palette is a limited edition of creamy textures and intense colour. The range of colours in this palette will work for work, holiday and occasions.

Contouring is out and traditional blush on the apple of the cheek is back. At Valentino, embracing the 80s vibe, Pat McGrath did a classic drape blush effect in a bright, shimmery fuchsia pink, while Tom Pecheux went for a bold red at Chanel. You may not want to go to such lengths but blush is definitely back, so this pretty Guerlain Météorites compact will be your best friend this summer.
