Speaking of LEGO, their Advent calendars are always some of the best around, with the chance to add a few figures and fun bits to your LEGO collection each year.  Open a door a day to reveal 24 Star Wars minifigures and models, including a landspeeder, republic fighter tank, Naboo starfighter, General Grievous Starfighter, blaster cannon and more.  The characters include Rose, Rowan, General Merrick, a battle droid and an IG-88 droid, amongst others.

The elves are busy finishing the Christmas toys, pushing them down the slide for wrapping beforre they are placed on Father Christmas's sleigh.  Children can build this delightful festive scene as they open the 24 windows of Santa's workshop, complete with elves, toys, presents, angels, the sleigh, and Father Christmas himself.

This beautiful bright, colourful magnetic Advent calendar includes 24 magnetic baubles and a special shining star for the top of the tree.  The attached wooden ornament box keeps all the pieces together as each bauble is added to the magnetic tree day by day.  This lovely tree will be brought out year after year and become a treasured addition to your collection.

Open the doors of this calendar to find the dastardly jewel thieves, their swag and all the tools they need for the heist, as well as the policeman who is trying to stop them.  Can you help him catch the crooks before Christmas?  Another lovely Playmobil set.

Every small person I know adores Play-Doh!  This calendar contains several pots of Play-Doh and various festive cutters and accessories.  There are 5 pots of regular Play-Doh and two sparkle pots for extra Christmas sparkle.  The accessories include a Christmas stamper and accessories to help build your own reindeer and Father Christmas.

LEGO Friends fans will love this calendar which has bricks behind each door to build a host of festive accessories and objects to decorate their favourite LEGO Friends house.  The 24 buildable gifts are great, and ideal accessories if you already have a house or two, but it's a shame there is no special new LEGO Friend figure to go with them.  On the plus side, you are getting 500 pieces of LEGO to make the 24 trinkets with.

This set has tons of play value, with a beautifully dresssed Royal family heading out on a sunny winter's day.  Ready to enjoy the day skating on the lake, there are animals to watch them, a snowman, a small sled, and even an owl in a Christmas tree.  This will be a lovely one to uncover as the 24 days go by.  Also includes a wearable bracelet.

Count down to Christmas Hot Wheels style with eight decorated Hot Wheels vehicles and 16 accessories.  Like many of the calendars this includes a foldout flat to use as a play mat.  Some lovely additions to their car collection and a fun calendar for car-mad kids or Hot Wheels fans and collectors.

Cat boy, Gecko and Owlette have their own Advent calendar this year with a character or Christmas accessory each day.  Will it be one of our heroes or Romeo, Luna Girl or one of the other villains?  There's even a Christmas tree for everyone to make friends around at the end.  This is bound to be a hit with any little PJ Masks fan, and it is suitable from age 3 as no small bits thankfully.

Impress your Turtle fan with this themed Mega Bloks calendar.  Containing buildable Turtle-themed surprises every day, including plenty of pizza of course, this calendar will keep them busy for ages.  With four buildable, micro action figures, plenty of accessories, including one Turtle that you can equip to look like any of the four brothers, they can start creating their own sewer!

And last but not least, how about a new Barbie doll with 23 days of career-themed clothing items and accessories.  Barbie can be a ballerina, a baker, a pop star, a vet or a skier.  The ballerina steals the spotlight with a glittery purple tutu skirt, ballet shoes and silvery tiara or have Barbie the pet vet care for an adorable penguin wearing a doctor's coat and using a stethoscope and patient chart.  A great calendar that will be played with long into the new year.
