Star Wars BB-8 Paper Plate Craft {with Free Printable Templates}

Looking for a fun Star Wars craft that kids can make and play with?  This cute BB-8 droid paper plate craft is perfect!  All you need are a few supplies and our free printable to make this brilliant paper plate craft which can then become a toy to play with.


Which is your favourite Star Wars droid?  R2-D2?  C3PO?  Or new kid on the space block, BB-8?  The adorable droid looks great with his stylish orange detailing, and we have all the pieces you need as a free printable so you can make him look just right.


In fact, why don't you print the parts out a few times so the children have a BB-8 each to play with and some to display too.  The perfect craft for any Star wars fan!


Star Wars BB-8 Paper Plate Craft

Supplies needed

2 paper plates (per project)
Glue
Scissors
Popsicle / lolly stick or dowel (optional)
BB-8 Paper Plate template printable
Printer fully stocked with printer ink

Instructions without Cricut

1. Print the PDF and cut all the pieces apart.



2. Cut one of the paper plates in half.


3. Trim one half of the paper plate to just the inner circle, discarding the other pieces of the paper plate.


4. Decorate the paper plates by attaching pieces with glue as per the images below.


5. Glue the two paper plates together at the edge, like this:


6. Glue or tape the paper plate to a dowel or lolly / popsicle stick if desired.


7. Allow the craft to dry completely before playing or displaying.

Instructions with Cricut

1. To use a print and cut device (such as Cricut Explore), use the PNG images linked here:


2. Upload to your machine software. Resize the orange circles image so it is 3.102 inches in height. Print THREE.

3. Resize the printed gray image to 4.736 inches in height.

4. Resize the facial features image to 2.202 inches in height.

5. Use the print and cut function as recommended by your manufacturer’s instructions.

6. Cut one of the paper plates in half.

7. Trim one half of the paper plate to just the inner circle, discarding the other pieces of the paper plate.

8. Decorate the paper plates by attaching pieces with glue as per the images below.


9. Glue the two paper plates together at the edge like so:


10. Glue or tape the paper plate to the popsicle stick if desired.


11. Allow the craft to dry completely before playing or displaying.
